Nothing signifies beautiful weather in St. Louis quite like a patio party!
The best patios in St. Louis are often private ones. Make your home the go-to spot for enjoying our gorgeous St. Louis weather with an enviable patio that’s one part cozy, one part chic. Check out these photos of our favorite private patios we’ve designed in St. Louis, and then take a look at your own backyard to see if you have room for adding your own patio party spot.
Not quite ready to take the leap? No worries, there are plenty of amazing restaurant patios in St. Louis you can relax on.
The Best Patios in St. Louis
We love the functionality of this cozy backyard space. A former urban backyard lawn area is transformed into a fun outdoor entertaining space with the installation of a new patio and outdoor fire pit. Now, this St. Louis family (including the cute as can be dogs, pictured!) can spend more time outdoors, dining alfresco or roasting s’mores fireside in fall.
Restaurant patios can oftentimes feel uninviting for families with kids. Bring the fun back home with family-friendly landscape features like an outdoor playground, BBQ grill island and open seating area that includes plenty of space to entertain family and friends. Our team is experienced at installing home playgrounds, sandboxes and even adult-oriented putting greens made for spending more time at home, without your children getting bored. The recently installed BBQ island and play area featured above is a great way to host more play dates and parties in the comfort of your own home!
Seating for All with Sitting Walls!
Some of our favorite (and functional) patio design projects include seat walls. Built-in seating for your outdoor living space provides a permanent solution to traditional chairs that can only perform on role within a design. Sitting walls can be used to provide fire pit seating, with the walls helping to reflect heat. Retaining walls with a terraces can be embellished with a seat ledge, providing additional seating.
The best private patios in St. Louis provide plenty of optional shade. Which is why we’re huge fans of pergolas paired with sun shades. Alone, pergolas offer outdoor spaces semi-shade yet paired with a sun shade, can offer varying amounts of sun protection. This can be especially important when temperatures in St. Louis hit above 90° and you still have an outdoor party to host. You can still entertain your guests outdoors with a heavier cloth sun shade and plenty of outdoor fans. Pro tip: Outdoor fans are also an excellent all-natural away to keep outdoor pest like mosquitoes away from your outdoor entertaining areas.
