Garden Heights Nursery
We love Garden Heights! You can find them right off of Big Bend Blvd. in Richmond Heights, MO. They carry a great selection of perennial plants, trees, shrubs, herbs and veggies. We also love the assortment of indoor plants, succulents and cute terrariums. Inside the gardening center you’ll find unique gifts, seeds, and other locally made products. Garden Heights also goes big for the holidays… it’s one of our favorite places for live Christmas trees, holiday gifts, candles and other fun stuff. They are truly the perfect one-stop shop for DIY-gardeners! We highly recommend visiting for unique gift ideas, indoor plants, and decorative containers for potted plants – indoor and out!
Missouri Wildflower Nursery
Ok, so Missouri Wildflower Nursery isn’t located in St. Louis, but we LOVE them anyway! It’s *the* go-to destination for plants and seeds that are native to Missouri. Here you’ll find popular perennials along with harder to find native plants that you can’t find in St. Louis. If it’s a native, they’ll have it! We appreciate that they bring their seeds and plants to St. Louis during the Spring and Fall (the best time to plant perennials plants) to drop-off locations like the native plant sale held annually at Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood, MO. Check them out, pick out your favorite native plants, and make sure we add them to your landscape design!
Flowers & Weeds
Flowers & Weeds is a unique destination for plant lovers. Attend a terrarium class, swing in for a fresh bouquet of flowers, or buy yourself a lush indoor plant for your home or office. Have an event coming up? Flowers & Weeds can design your floral arrangements! You can even find them showing off their immense talents at the annual St. Louis Art Museum’s Art in Bloom event. They truly are artists with plants, and we love them for the creativity they bring to our green industry.
Bowood Farms
A gardening center with a cafe?! Sounds like a perfect stop to us! Bowood is a cool plant nursery with an outdoor gardening center and the popular Cafe Osage. Here you can sit outside among the plants enjoying breakfast, lunch, or a glass of wine. We love Bowood Farms for giving us a fun place to savor time outside with our favorite things…. plants! They are open year-round, but we love visiting when the weather is *just right*, so we can linger outside.
Garden Gate Shop
How can you not love the Garden Gate Shop at The Missouri Botanical Garden? Shop here and you’re supporting an iconic St. Louis institution that does so much for plant education, gardening, landscape design, outdoor inspiration and more. We make a point to come here as a team once a year to enjoy the beautiful garden grounds and be surrounded by some of the finest examples of landscape design and maintenance in our City. It’s a St. Louis treasure!
