The Best Native Plants and Pollinators for 2016

Native plants and pollinators make great additions to any landscape.

Not only are they perfectly adapted to our unique Midwest climate, they provide important food and shelter for our local wildlife – including butterflies, birds, and bees! Our landscape design team loves to incorporate them into both residential and commercial properties because of their relatively low maintenance needs and benefits to our local eco-system. Plus, our favorite native plants inject color and attract life to your property.

We asked Sheri Ragland of Jost Greenhouses for her top picks of native pollinator plants that are readily available in the St. Louis-area this season. Here are a few of her expert recommendations:

Interested in learning more about native plants and caring for them?

Stop by to see us at the upcoming Green Homes Festival at Missouri Botanical Garden on Saturday, June 4th 2016. Our landscape design team will be on-hand as the only landscape company at the Festival! We’ll be talking to festival-goers about the benefits of rainscaping, butterfly gardens, and answering any questions about home lawn care.

Best of all? We’ll be giving away a Plant Prize Pack to one lucky attendee that stops by to see us!
